In the first quarter of 2021 alone, the Korean tech giant claims to have shipped over 76.1 million units worldwide with a market share of 22%. As per reports, the credit for holding the top position goes to the launch of the Galaxy S Series and Galaxy A series phone.

The number 2 position globally is captured by Apple. Apple holds a market share of 16% at the end of the first quarter. The company has shipped around 56.4 million units of smartphone and shown a year-on-year growth of 46.5%.

Xiaomi bagged the third position in the global smartphone market at the end of the first quarter. The company has witnessed 78.3% year-on-year growth during Q1 2021 and its market share is at 14%.

Vivo holds the fourth spot during Q1 2021 with a market share of 11%. The company shipped around 38.2 million units exhibiting an annual growth of 95.9%

Oppo holds the fifth slot in the list of top global smartphone market players. The company’s annual growth is at 85.3% and its market share stands at 11% for Q1 2021. In the first quarter, the company shipped 37.8 million units.

Huawei used to be a market leader once and now is number 6 position. In Q1 2020 the company shipped 70% more units and in 2021 same time they could ship only 14.7 million units. 

  1. Motorola

The seventh position on the list goes to Motorola. The company’s shipment has increased by 128.1% as of last year's same quarter. Its shipment in the last quarter has been 12.6 million units.
