IIT Delhi is offering a free online course on the introduction to artificial intelligence on the SWAYAM NPTEL platform for the benefit of undergraduate students.

IIT Delhi, like various other Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc), is offering several free online courses on the NPTEL platform at present. One such course is a free online course on “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence”, which interested learners can enroll for. The course, however, can be especially beneficial for undergraduate students in computer science with a fair knowledge of data structures and probability.

It's a 12-week long free online course on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Course structure:

Week 1: Introduction: Philosophy of AI, Definitions.

Week 2: Modeling a Problem as a Search Problem and Uninformed Search.

Week 3: Heuristic Search, Domain Relaxations.

Week 4: Local Search, Genetic Algorithms.

Week 5: Adversarial Search.

Week 6: Constraint Satisfaction.

Week 7: Propositional Logic and Satisfiability.

Week 8: Uncertainty in AI, Bayesian Networks.

Week 9: Bayesian Networks Learning and Inference, Decision Theory.

Week 10: Markov Decision Processes.

Week 11: Reinforcement Learning.

Week 12: Introduction to Deep Learning & Deep R.

The course will be conducted by Professor Mausam, Associate Professor, Computer Science Department, IIT Delhi.

Eligibility:

Anyone can enroll in this free online course on Artificial Intelligence however, it is an undergraduate Computer Science level course. Prior knowledge of Data Structures, Probability is the prerequisite of this course.

Also, people willing to pursue Psychology, Research, Neuroscience, and are interested in the Robotics Industry, or wish to pursue Neuroscience in the field of AI as their career must get enrolled in this course.

Criteria to Receive Certificate:

Certificates will be rewarded to the participants on the basis of their performance in the exam, and average assignment score. However, the course is free but to take the exam one has to pay INR 1000 as a fee for this exam.

25% weightage will be given to the assignments and 75% to the proctored certification exam score of 100. The marks of the best of 8 out of 12 assignments given in the course will be considered. To be eligible for the course one must score a minimum average of 10 marks in the assignment and 35 out of 75 in the exam.
