There is a great demand for engineers in our country and it is amongst the most popular professions. Do you know there are a bunch of actors and actresses from Bollywood who hold a degree in engineering and are now chasing their dreams? They left their lucrative careers to pursue their passion in the entertainment industry. Let us have a look at some of the engineer-turned actors. 

  1. Taapsee Pannu

Taapsee Pannu has created her own niche with strong roles in Bollywood. She is a software engineer. She completed her graduation in computer science engineering from Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology, New Delhi. She then took part in Channels V’s talent show Get Gorgeous which led her to a career in acting. Before her debut in Bollywood, she was already an established star in the South Indian film industry. 

 

  1. Sonu Sood

Sonu Sood is an actor, model, producer and philanthropist from Bollywood with a degree in Electronics Engineering from Yashwantrao Chavan College of Engineering, Nagpur. In his career of two decades, he has established himself as one of the most talented stars in the country. 

 

  1. Kirti Sanon

Kirti Sanon is another popular name who chose her passion and made her foray into the entertainment industry. She did Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida. Later, she debuted opposite Tiger Shroff in Heropanti in 2014. 

 

  1. Kartik Aryan

Kartik Aryan made her acting debut with Pyar Ka Punchnama in 2011. This Gwalior boy pursued a career in engineering before entering the Glamour and Glitz industry. He did engineering in Biotechnology from D Y Patil College of Engineering in Navi Mumbai. During his engineering days, he used to travel for hours in local trains to audition for films. 

 

  1. Vicky Kaushal

Vicky Kaushal is another upcoming actor who gave up his engineering job for a career in Bollywood. Kaushal did his graduation with an engineering degree in electronics and telecommunication from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Mumbai. He left his engineering job to start working as an assistant director before debuting as an actor.
