ANSWERS WITH EXPLANATION

Q1) Correct Answer: “c”

EXPLANATION:

The unit digit in (264)4 4 × 4 × 4 × 4 is 6
∴  The unit digit in (264)100 is also 6.
Now, (264)102 = (264)100 × (264)2
= (Unit digit 6) × (Unit digit 6) = 36
∴  Unit digit is 6
Similarly

Therefore, the unit digit in (264)102 + (264)103 is 6 + 4 = 10 i.e. 0.

Q2) Correct Answer: “a”

EXPLANATION:

Let the total number of students be x

Therefore, 3x/5 students are girls

Number of boys= x - 3x/5

= 2x/5 Students

2/9 of girls are absent. It means that

3x/5 - 2/9(3x/5) are present

= 7x/15 girls are present

1/4 of the total number of boys are absent

So, 2x/5 - 1/4(2x/5) boys are present

= 3x/10 boys are present

Total number of students present =total number of girls present + the total number of boys present

= 3x/10+ 7x/15=23x/30 are present

Q3) Correct Answer: “a”

EXPLANATION:

So, for this, we have to find HCF of 1001 and 910
Write 1001 and 910 product of prime
1001 = 7 × 11 × 13
910 = 2 × 5 × 7 × 13
HCF of 1001 , 910 = 7 × 13 = 91

Q4) Correct Answer: “a”

EXPLANATION:

Area of Triangle = 1/2(x1(y2−y3)+x2(y3−y1)+x3(y1−y2))

Area of Triangle= 1/2 (3a( 3b - 2b ) + 0( 2b - 0) + a( 0 - 3b) )

Area of Triangle  = 1/2( 3ab - 3ab )
Area of Triangle = 0
Therefore, Given Points are collinear

Hence these points form a straight line.

Q5) Correct Answer: “c”

EXPLANATION:

If (x1,y1), (x2,y2) , (x2,y2) are three vertices of the triangle whose centroid G
G= (x1+x2+x3/3 , y1+y2+y3/3 )
given A (-1,4) , B(5,2) , let third vertex C =(x,y) and G= (0,-3)
(-1+5+x/3, 4+2+y/3) = (0,-3)
(4+x/3 , 6+y/3) =(0,-3)
therefore
4+x/3 = 0  , 6+y/3 = -3
4+x =0     , 6+y = -9
x= -4 , y= -9-6
x= -4 , y = -15
third vertex = C (x,y) = (-4,-15)

Q6) Correct Answer: “b”

EXPLANATION:

Let us consider the acute angles between the lines to be Ф.

If the two slopes are considered as m and m'.

So, tan Ф = (m - m')/[(1 + mm')]

Here, m = -2 and m' = 3

So, tan Ф = (-2 - 3)/[(1 - 6)] = -5/-5 = 1

Ф = tan⁻¹ (1)

= 45°

Q7) Correct Answer: “d”

EXPLANATION:

Income in the second year
= ₹ 45000
Income in the first year
= ₹ 30000
Expense in the first year
= ₹ 25000
Expense in the second year
= ₹ 45000
∴  Total saving
= 75000 – 70000 = ₹ 5000

Q8) Correct Answer: “b”

EXPLANATION:

The ratio of the values = 2 :
3
:
4
24

= 4 : 3 : 2
∴  Value of 50 paise coins

=
3
× 180 = ₹ 60
9

Numbers of 50 paise coins = 120.

Q9) Correct Answer: “a”

EXPLANATION:

Time taken to cover 20 km at speed 5 km/hr

= 4 hours

∴ Fixed time = 4 hour – 40 minutes = 3 hour 20 min

Time taken to cover 20 km at the speed 8 km/hr =20/8

= 2 hours 30 minute

∴ Required time = 3 hours 20 minutes – 2 hr 30 min

= 50 minutes

Q10) Correct Answer: “a”

EXPLANATION:

Suppose they meet x hrs after 8 a.m

then,

[Distance moved by first in x hrs] + [Distance moved by second in (x-1) hrs] = 330.

Therefore, 60x + 75(x-1) = 330.

 => x=3.

So,they meet at (8+3) i.e, 11a.m.
